SportyBet is a sports betting brand that returned to Kenya in August 2025, three years after it left the market in September 2022. The Kenyan site focuses on football betting with strong cash out tools, live betting, quick Instant Virtuals and Aviator, with deposits and withdrawals through M-Pesa. BetTips.co.ke is an independent comparison site, not SportyBet: if you are only looking for the official SportyBet Kenya page, use the button below.
The rest of this SportyBet review explains what changed with the relaunch, what the sportsbook offers Kenyan punters, how payments and taxes work, and the licence details we could and could not confirm.
SportyBet in Kenya: the 2022 exit and 2025 return
SportyBet pulled out of Kenya in September 2022, citing industry and regulatory hurdles at a time when taxes and licensing rules were changing quickly. It relaunched in August 2025 with a Kenya-specific site in English and Swahili. Some old guides still describe the pre-2022 product or say SportyBet is unavailable in Kenya; both are out of date.
Because SportyBet has been back only since late 2025, the brand has a shorter recent track record in Kenya than long-running local names. That is not a red flag on its own, but it is a reason to check the licence details yourself before depositing large amounts.
Licence: what we could confirm
The BCLB published its list of operators approved for 2025/2026 in August 2025, shortly before SportyBet's relaunch, and SportyBet's Kenyan entity does not appear on it. Third-party listings name the local company as Dreamhub Technology Limited, but we could not confirm that or a licence number from an official page or regulator list. Kenya's oversight is also moving from the BCLB to the Gambling Regulatory Authority under Kenya's 2025 gambling law.
Our advice: open the footer of the SportyBet Kenya site, read the licence statement and company name, and compare them with the regulator's current list. The key facts box shows the licence field once we have verified it. Our licensed betting sites guide explains the process.
Searching "sporty bet" or "sportybet ke": reaching the right site
SportyBet runs separate country sites, and the Kenyan one sits in its own Kenya section. Signs you are in the right place: prices in KES, M-Pesa as the payment method and a Kenyan phone number format at sign-up. If a page shows another currency or asks for a different country code, you are on another market's site and your account will not work there.
Sports betting and live markets
Football is the heart of SportyBet Kenya. Expect the English Premier League, which is followed more than any other league in Kenya, plus the big European leagues, the Champions League and many smaller competitions. Markets include 1X2, double chance, goals, both teams to score, handicaps and correct score. The relaunch also brought a revamped live betting interface for in-play markets.
Before placing longer slips, it helps to understand accumulators and how risk grows with each leg. Our accumulator tips page and the odds calculator show how quickly odds and risk multiply.
Cash out: SportyBet's main selling point
At the 2025 relaunch, SportyBet put cash out at the centre of its pitch:
- Full cash out: settle a bet early for the value shown.
- Partial cash out: take part of the value now and leave the rest running.
- Automated cash out rules: set a value at which the bet cashes out for you.
Cash out values include the bookmaker's margin, so cashing out every time costs money in the long run. It works best as a planned tool, for example locking in part of a long accumulator when only one match remains, not as a reaction to every scare during a live game.
Instant Virtuals, Aviator and games
The Kenyan home page lists Instant Virtuals, quick simulated football events such as Instant World Cup and Instant African Cup, and an Aviator tile. Instant Virtuals settle as soon as you place the bet, which makes them very fast. We could not confirm the size of a wider casino catalogue for Kenya. Our SportyBet games page and SportyBet Aviator guide cover these products and why predictor apps are scams.
Jackpot on SportyBet Kenya
Third-party sites describe a SportyBet jackpot for Kenya, but we have not confirmed its current format from an official page. If a jackpot is offered, read the number of games, stake and bonus tiers on the jackpot card. Our SportyBet jackpot predictions page will follow the format once it is confirmed.
Deposits, withdrawals and taxes
SportyBet announced instant M-Pesa deposits through its paybill, shown in the key facts box, plus a direct online deposit option from the site, and instant withdrawals to M-Pesa wallets. Step by step instructions are on our SportyBet paybill page.
Kenyan law charges excise duty on deposits into betting wallets, so your balance can be lower than the amount you sent, and winnings are paid out net of withholding tax. The operator deducts both automatically; check the tax note on SportyBet's payment screens or our betting tax guide.
App, mobile site and sign-up
SportyBet can be used on its mobile site or through an Android app. Download guidance and APK safety are on our SportyBet app page, and the lighter browser experience is covered on SportyBet Lite and mobile. Registration needs a Kenyan mobile number and takes a few minutes; see SportyBet registration.

Who SportyBet suits, and who should look elsewhere
SportyBet fits punters who mainly bet on football, like to manage open slips with partial or automatic cash out, and are comfortable on a smartphone. It suits Swahili speakers who prefer a site in their own language. It is a weaker fit if you want a wide jackpot range, SMS betting on a basic phone or a long local track record; in those cases compare Betika and other established names first.
What we make of SportyBet
SportyBet is worth a look if cash out control and a clean live betting screen matter to you. Check the licence statement in the footer first, start with a small deposit to confirm that M-Pesa payments run smoothly, and compare it with long-established bookmakers on our best betting sites list. Betting is for adults 18+ only; set a budget before you start and use BCLB's responsible gambling resources, now continued by the GRA, if betting stops being fun.
