A legit betting site in Kenya holds a current Kenyan licence, names the company behind it, pays out to M-Pesa without inventing new conditions, and publishes its rules where you can read them. Our reviews check each bookmaker against those points and say clearly when a brand falls short or has stopped operating. Use this page to find the review you need, or start with the summary table of the operators we currently rate.

Brands that have left Kenya or could not be verified
Several names that still rank in search results are no longer real options for Kenyan punters. Their reviews explain what we found; we advise against depositing with any of them.
| Brand | What we found in October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Betway | Stopped taking Kenyan deposits and registrations in May 2023; the Kenyan site no longer loads |
| Betsafe | Ceased Kenyan operations in May 2024, citing taxation |
| BetLion | No working Kenyan site after the brand was acquired by 888Africa |
| Elitebet and Premier Bet | No sign of Kenyan operations in recent years; old domains parked or refusing connections |
| mCheza | The domain now hosts an unrelated review site |
| ZakaBet and Gal Sport | No Kenyan operator or licence found |
A few other brands, such as PariPesa, Linebet and Helabet, are reachable but show no Kenyan licence we could confirm, so they are reviewed but not ranked.
What each review covers
Every review follows the same core checks so you can compare brands fairly, while the detail depends on what the operator offers:
- Licence and company: the licence number shown on the site, the operating company, and any regulator action we found in public sources.
- Deposits and withdrawals: paybill, STK push, Airtel Money and other methods the operator lists, plus published limits.
- Sportsbook: football depth from the EPL to the KPL, live betting, cash out and other sports.
- Jackpots, Aviator and casino: what is on offer and how it is structured.
- Apps and lite versions: Android, iOS, lite site, SMS and USSD where available.
- Bonuses: the current offer and the terms that decide its value.
- Customer care: published channels and hours.
Most brands also have sub-pages for the things people search most: registration, paybill, app download, customer care and promo codes.
How we check without pretending
We are open about our method. We do not open accounts with every bookmaker, deposit or test withdrawals for these reviews. What we do is read the operator's published terms, help pages and app store listings, check the domain and company details, and look for news and regulator notices. When those sources disagree, the review says so. You can read the full scoring method on how we rate.
Six signs a betting site is not legit
| Sign | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| No licence number, or only a foreign licence | No Kenyan regulator to complain to if payouts stop |
| A "withdrawal fee" or "tax" you must pay first | Classic advance-fee fraud; real tax is deducted from winnings automatically |
| Paybill name on the M-Pesa message differs from the brand | Money may be going to an individual or a reseller |
| App only shared as an APK in chats | Possible clone designed to steal logins |
| Ads for fixed matches or sure odds | Licensed operators may not market betting that way |
| Domain registered recently and no company name | Brand may disappear with player balances |
Legit prediction sites and tipsters
People also search for a legit correct score or draw prediction source. The honest answer is that a legit tipster shows the reasoning behind each pick and keeps losing tips on record; anyone selling "confirmed" correct scores or fixed draws is not legit. Our own football predictions are free and explain the method on every page.
Local and international brands
Our list mixes Kenyan-founded bookmakers, African brands that expanded into Kenya, and large international sportsbooks. The new Gambling Control Act, 2025 requires foreign operators to register locally, keep a local address and customer care, and hold player money in a Kenyan bank account. For international brands, the review states what we could confirm about their Kenyan registration.
Picking from the reviews
If jackpots are your main game, look for brands with a weekly jackpot and bonus tiers for near misses. If you bet live on the EPL, focus on in-play depth and app speed. If you mostly stake small amounts, check the minimum deposit and minimum stake. Our best betting sites ranking and the specialist lists such as M-Pesa betting sites do the shortlisting for you.
Keep it safe
Even with a legit bookmaker, betting carries the risk of losing money. Bet only if you are 18+, keep stakes within a set budget, and use the deposit limits and other controls that licensed sites offer. Our responsible gambling page explains self-exclusion under Kenya's new law.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a betting site in Kenya is legit?
Check for a Kenyan licence number on the site, a named operating company, M-Pesa payments that show the brand's name on the confirmation SMS, and published terms. Missing any of these is a warning.
Are international betting sites legal in Kenya?
Foreign operators must register in Kenya and meet local requirements under the Gambling Control Act, 2025. Check each review for what we confirmed about the brand's Kenyan status.
Why do you review bookmakers that have closed?
People still search for them and some still have old balances. Those pages explain what we found and advise not to deposit, and they are not included in rankings.
Do bookmakers pay for good reviews?
We earn commission when readers sign up through some links, which is disclosed on our affiliate disclosure page. Ratings follow our published method, and commission does not buy a place in the ranking.
