Serie A Predictions

Picks for Italy's top flight with the tactical and scheduling factors behind them, plus the markets that tend to suit Serie A.

No prediction is ever sure. Tips here are opinions built on form and statistics, so treat them as research, not a promise. 18+.

Our Serie A predictions cover each round of Italy's top flight: the fixtures that pass our checks, the market we prefer, the price we saw and a one-line reason. Italian football has a reputation for caution, but the league has become more open in recent seasons, and that shift is exactly where bookmaker prices sometimes lag. We look at the numbers rather than the stereotype.

A Serie A round is spread across the weekend and often into Monday, with staggered kick-offs so that almost every match has its own slot. Picks are added as each day approaches and confirmed when the line-ups are out.

Italian kick-offs on Kenyan clocks

Italy uses Central European Time, two hours behind Kenya in winter and one hour behind in summer. The common evening slot of 20:45 in Italy lands at 22:45 EAT from late October to late March and 21:45 in the summer months. Lunchtime and afternoon games on Sunday fall in the Kenyan afternoon. Spain runs on the same clock, so late slots on our Spanish football predictions page work the same way. Because the matches are spread out, it is easy to keep betting all weekend; set a round budget before the first game.

Old reputation, new numbers

Ask a Kenyan punter about Italian football and many will say "1-0 and under 2.5". That picture is out of date for a good part of the league. Several clubs now press high and attack with wing-backs, and goals per game have moved accordingly. At the same time, bottom-half sides fighting relegation still tend to play tight games, especially late in the season.

So we treat each fixture on its own terms. For every pick we check:

  • Expected goals for and against over recent weeks, home and away separately.
  • Tactical matchups. Two pressing teams usually produce more chances than two deep blocks.
  • Squad rotation around European games and cup ties.
  • Suspensions. Serie A games are often physical, and yellow-card accumulation can remove key defenders.
  • The price. If the odds already reflect what we see, we pass.

When the numbers point to goals, you will find the reasoning echoed on our over 2.5 goals page; when a slow first half is likely, a half time / full time angle sometimes offers a better price.

Markets that often fit Italian matches

MarketWhen it can suit Serie ARisk to keep in mind
Under 2.5 goalsLow-scoring relegation battles, two defensive sidesOne early goal opens the game
Over 2.5 goals or GGMatches between two pressing, attacking teamsRed cards and slow starts
Draw or draw no betEvenly matched mid-table sidesLate winners are common in tired games
Asian handicapA strong favourite against a weak defenceFavourites often ease off after leading

Promoted clubs deserve a separate mention. They often start the season with energy and home crowds behind them, then fade as injuries and fixture density bite. Bookmakers adjust, but not always quickly, so we pay close attention to how newly promoted sides are rated in the first and last months of the campaign.

Staking Serie A over a long weekend

Because the round can run from Friday to Monday, it helps to fix a stake per match before the first kick-off. If your weekend betting money is KES 1,500 and you plan to bet on six Serie A games, decide now whether that is KES 100 on each or different amounts based on confidence, and keep the rest aside. Write the plan down, and do not top up mid-round because of a Saturday loss. Our weekend predictions page has a plan for spreading stakes over Saturday and Sunday.

Common Serie A betting mistakes

  • Automatically backing unders because "Italy is defensive".
  • Forgetting the Monday games when planning the weekend budget.
  • Following accounts that promise "fixed" Italian matches. Such offers are scams.

Betting is strictly for adults aged 18+. Set limits in your betting account and see our responsible gambling page for support if you need it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Serie A still a low-scoring league?

Not across the board. Some clubs play open, attacking football, while others still defend deep. We judge each fixture on recent chance data rather than the league's old reputation.

What time is the late Serie A game in Kenya?

The usual 20:45 Italian kick-off is 22:45 in Kenya from late October to late March, and 21:45 during the European summer time months.

Do you give Serie A correct score tips?

Occasionally, when a fixture strongly points to a low score. Correct score bets pay well because they rarely land, so we suggest very small stakes on them.

Do you cover Serie B as well?

Not on this page. Italy's second tier has less reliable team news, so we only add a Serie B pick to the general daily feed when the data is strong enough.

Why do some Serie A picks get withdrawn?

Usually because of late team news, such as a suspended defender or a rotated striker, or because the price moved below our estimate before kick-off.
