Is BetPawa legit in Kenya?
Yes, on the evidence we could check. The footer of betpawa.co.ke names the company, the regulator and two licence numbers, one for betting and one for gaming; the key facts box above repeats what the operator publishes. Under the Gambling Control Act, 2025, the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) replaced the BCLB, and betPawa's footer already uses the new name. That is a small but useful sign that the page is maintained.
BetPawa has been in the Kenyan market for years. In 2019 it went to court over a licence suspension during the BCLB renewal crackdown, and it has kept trading since then. It was not on the April 2025 list of betting firms whose paybills Safaricom was told to suspend. Sports betting and live betting on betPawa
Football is the centre of the sportsbook. Most Kenyan punters come for the English Premier League, then La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and the Champions League, and the local FKF Premier League sits alongside them. The Win Bonus instead of a welcome bonus
When we checked the homepage, betPawa did not advertise a first deposit bonus. Its main offer is a Win Bonus: if a multibet wins, betPawa adds a percentage on top of the winnings, and the percentage grows with the number of selections. The top figure is eye-catching, but it only applies to long accumulators, and long accumulators lose far more often than short ones. Treat the Win Bonus as a small extra on bets you would place anyway, not a reason to add legs.

M-Pesa and Airtel Money payments
Deposits start inside your account rather than from the M-Pesa menu: you enter an amount, tap Deposit, and a payment request from BETPAWA pops up on your phone for your PIN. Airtel Money works the same way on its own deposit page. The help page notes that a tax deduction applies to deposits and withdrawals under the Gambling Control Act, 2025, so the wallet is credited with slightly less than you sent. That is a legal deduction, not a betPawa fee.
