Want to follow the steps on the operator site?

Go to 22Bet

The 22Bet paybill number for M-Pesa is in the table and facts box below, and the account number is your 22Bet account ID from the cashier, not your phone number. That second point is where most failed 22Bet deposits come from. 22Bet's own deposit guide also says the business number changed in December 2023, so ignore older blogs that quote a different paybill.

18+ only. We describe the process from 22Bet's published guide and did not make deposits ourselves.

Find your 22Bet account ID first

Log in on the site or app. The account number appears in your profile and in the deposit section of the cashier. Copy it or write it down exactly; a single wrong digit sends the payment to nobody's wallet and you will need support to trace it.

Six steps of an M-Pesa Paybill deposit to a betting wallet
Paybill deposit in six steps. Always copy the business number from the operator's official deposit page.

22Bet deposit via the paybill

  1. Open M-Pesa on your Safaricom line and choose Lipa na M-Pesa.
  2. Select Pay Bill and enter the 22Bet business number.
  3. Enter your 22Bet account ID as the account number.
  4. Type the amount in KES and your M-Pesa PIN.
  5. Wait for the confirmation SMS, then refresh the balance.

Deposit from the cashier instead

In the 22Bet cashier, choose M-Pesa, enter your phone number and the amount, and confirm. An STK prompt appears on the phone; enter your PIN there. This route fills the account ID for you, so it avoids the most common mistake. Use whichever route works on your phone; both credit the same wallet.

Open the 22Bet cashier

22Bet withdrawal to M-Pesa

  1. Open the cashier and choose Withdraw.
  2. Select M-Pesa and confirm the phone number.
  3. Enter the amount and submit.
  4. If 22Bet asks for identity documents, upload them in the profile; first withdrawals often trigger this.

Bonus money cannot be withdrawn until its wagering is complete, so a withdrawal may be refused if an active bonus is still running. Withholding tax on winnings is deducted by the operator, and excise duty is taken from deposits; see our betting tax guide.
