Want to follow the steps on the operator site?

Go to Betika

The Betika paybill number for Kenyan M-Pesa deposits is the Betika business number 290290 listed in our key facts box. In the account number box, enter the phone number registered on your Betika account. That is the whole trick; the rest of this page walks through the M-Pesa menu, the faster in-app option, withdrawals and what to do when a deposit does not arrive.

Deposit to Betika through the M-Pesa menu

  1. Open the M-Pesa menu on your Safaricom line or the M-Pesa app.
  2. Choose Lipa na M-Pesa, then Pay Bill.
  3. Business number: enter the Betika paybill shown in the key facts box.
  4. Account number: enter your registered Betika phone number.
  5. Enter the amount in KES, then your M-Pesa PIN, and confirm.
  6. Check the confirmation SMS: the recipient should read BETIKA.

If the recipient name is anything other than Betika, you have typed a wrong number. Kenyan guides warn that lookalike paybills exist, so double-check the digits before entering your PIN.

Six steps of an M-Pesa Paybill deposit to a betting wallet
Paybill deposit in six steps. Always copy the business number from the operator's official deposit page.

Faster: deposit from the Betika site or app

Inside your account, tap Deposit, type the amount and submit. Betika sends an M-Pesa prompt (STK push) to your phone. Enter your PIN on that prompt and the money is credited. This avoids typos in the business or account number, and it is the method we suggest for most punters.

Paybill or till number?

Searches for a "Betika till number" are common, but Betika deposits use Pay Bill, not Buy Goods. A till does not let you enter an account number, so Betika could not match the payment to your account. Use the paybill or the in-app prompt only.

How to withdraw from Betika

  1. Log in and open Withdraw.
  2. Enter the amount from your cash balance.
  3. Confirm. The money goes to the M-Pesa line registered on your account.

Withdrawals go to your own registered number only, which protects you if someone learns your password. For cash out on open bets and bonus withdrawals, see our how to cash out in Betika guide.

Why the amount credited can be lower

Kenyan law charges excise duty on deposits into betting wallets, and the operator deducts it automatically before crediting your balance. Withholding tax is deducted from winnings before payout. The rules changed in July 2025 and again in July 2026, so check the tax note on Betika's deposit screen or KRA guidance rather than relying on old figures. Our betting tax guide explains both.

Frequently asked questions

What account number do I use for the Betika paybill?

Use the phone number registered on your Betika account. That is how Betika matches the payment to you.

Can I deposit to Betika with Airtel Money?

Check the payment methods listed in your Betika account. M-Pesa is the main route; the key facts box shows the methods we have confirmed.

Does Betika have a till number?

Betika deposits work through Pay Bill or an in-app M-Pesa prompt. A till number cannot carry your account number.

I deposited to the wrong paybill. What now?

Contact Safaricom quickly with the M-Pesa code and ask about a reversal. Betika cannot recover money sent to another business.

How long do Betika withdrawals take?

Most go through quickly to M-Pesa, but checks or network issues can cause delays. Contact support with the time and amount if it takes long.
