By There is no working Betway app for Kenya. Betway stopped deposits and new registrations for Kenyan players in May 2023, and its local company later went into liquidation, so any "Betway app download" or "Betway APK" offered to Kenyans today is either an old file that no longer connects, an app meant for another country, or a fake. Do not install it. Below we explain the risks and point you to apps that work legally in Kenya.
Why a Betway APK is a bad idea in 2026
- It cannot work for Kenyan accounts. The Kenyan service closed, and the Kenyan domain did not load when we checked in October 2026.
- Unknown origin. Files shared as "betway app install download apk" on download sites or Telegram are not distributed by Betway for Kenya, so you cannot know what was changed inside.
- Login theft. A copycat app that shows a Betway login screen can collect your phone number and the password you may reuse elsewhere.
- Payment fraud. Some fake apps ask for an M-Pesa PIN or push you to pay a "new Betway paybill". Money sent that way is lost.
What about Betway apps for other countries?
The Betway brand still runs in some other markets, which is why searches like "betway botswana app" or "betway uk app" bring up store listings. Those apps serve players in those countries under their licences. They are not a way back to a Kenyan Betway account, and using them from Kenya through workarounds means no Kenyan protection and possible voided winnings.
If an old Betway app is still on your phone
- Uninstall it from Settings, then Apps.
- If you reused your Betway password anywhere else, change it there.
- Remove any saved card or wallet details linked to the app.
- Switch off "install unknown apps" for any browser or file manager you used to install it.

Safe install checklist for any betting app
- Start from the operator's official website, not a search ad or a shared link.
- Check the licence number in the site footer before downloading.
- Allow unknown-source installs only for the moment of installation.
- Never type your M-Pesa PIN into an app; genuine deposits trigger a Safaricom prompt.
- Ignore apps promising predictor tools or hacks. They do not work and often steal data.
