Dafabet in Kenya is operated by Asian Betting and Gaming Enterprise Africa Limited, a company on the list of operators approved for licensing in the 2025/2026 financial year. The brand launched its Kenyan site and a Nairobi office in 2017 and has offered sports betting, virtuals and jackpots with M-Pesa payments. When we checked from outside Kenya, however, the Kenyan address redirected to Dafabet's global site, so we could not confirm what the Kenyan product looks like today. BetTips.co.ke is an independent review site, not Dafabet.

Dafabet in Kenya: a short history

WhenWhat happened
March 2017Dafabet launched its Kenyan site and opened a Nairobi hub office
2019Among about 27 firms halted in the licence crackdown that year
September 2019Resumed full operations and announced its official M-Pesa paybill
August 2025Its Kenyan company appeared on the BCLB list of operators approved for 2025/2026

The 2019 crackdown affected many bookmakers at once over licensing and tax disputes, and Dafabet was among those that came back. That history is worth knowing because old news articles about the suspension still appear in search results.

Licence and regulator

Being on the 2025/2026 approved list is a good sign. Kenya's oversight is moving from the BCLB to the Gambling Regulatory Authority under the Gambling Control Act, 2025, and online operators need their own online licence. We did not find Dafabet's licence number on pages we could read, so the key facts box shows it only once verified. Check the footer of the Kenyan site and compare it with the regulator's current list, as described on our licensed betting sites page.

Why we list Dafabet's status as unclear

From our location, the Kenyan Dafabet address redirected to the global Dafabet site, which showed no Kenya-specific content. This may simply be geo-routing that sends non-Kenyan visitors elsewhere, and from a Kenyan connection you may see the local site. But it means we could not confirm current Kenyan products, bonuses or app details first hand from the public pages. If you open Dafabet in Kenya, check that:

  • prices are shown in KES;
  • M-Pesa is offered for deposits and withdrawals;
  • the footer names the Kenyan company and a licence number.

If any of those are missing, you may be on the international site, which is not meant for Kenyan players.

Dafabet Kenya versus Dafabet's global site

Dafabet is an international brand with sites for several regions. Searches such as "Dafabet Malaysia" or "Dafabet sister sites" refer to those other markets and their products, which do not apply to a Kenyan account. Bonuses, payment methods and even game ranges differ by market. For Kenya, only the Kenyan Dafabet site and its terms matter.

What Dafabet offered Kenyan punters

When it returned in 2019, Dafabet Kenya described its offer as sports betting, virtual games and jackpots, available on the web, by SMS, on mobile and through retail outlets. A football-first sportsbook with markets on the EPL and other European leagues would be typical for a Kenyan bookmaker. Whether Aviator, poker or a full casino are available on the Kenyan site today, we could not confirm; the key facts box shows these only once verified.

Jackpots were part of the 2019 offer too. If the Kenyan site still runs one, read the number of games, stake and bonus tiers on the jackpot card itself rather than trusting older articles, and remember that no jackpot pick is ever certain. Our jackpot predictions hub explains how we analyse cards.

Dafabet deposit and paybill

In 2019 Dafabet announced its official M-Pesa paybill, which is shown in our key facts box. Paybill deposits in Kenya follow the same steps everywhere: Lipa na M-Pesa, Pay Bill, business number, account number (usually your registered phone number, but follow the operator's instructions), amount and PIN. Always check that the M-Pesa confirmation names Dafabet or its company. Because our paybill source is several years old, confirm the number on the Kenyan site before paying.

The Dafabet minimum deposit is also shown in the key facts box once verified. Kenyan excise duty on deposits and withholding tax on winnings are deducted by the operator; see our betting tax guide.

Dafabet mobile and app

"m dafabet" and "Dafabet mobile" searches refer to the mobile site. Our Dafabet app download page explains how to make sure you are installing the Kenyan version and what to do if you only see the global site.

Bonuses and free bets

Some affiliate sites quote a Dafabet welcome offer for Kenya, but we could not confirm it on Dafabet's official Kenyan pages and do not print figures. Our Dafabet free bet and bonus page explains what to check before claiming any offer.

Withdrawals and complaints

Withdrawals at Kenyan bookmakers normally go back to the M-Pesa number registered on the account, after withholding tax on winnings is deducted. Before your first withdrawal, check whether Dafabet asks for ID; international brands often require verification before paying out. If a withdrawal stalls, contact support through the channels listed on the Kenyan site, keep the reference and date, and escalate to the regulator if it is not resolved. A bookmaker on the approved list can be held to account in Kenya, which is one more reason to make sure you are using the Kenyan site rather than another market's version.

Bottom line on Dafabet

Dafabet has a real history in Kenya and its company was approved for 2025/2026, but we could not confirm the current Kenyan site from our checks. If the Kenyan site loads for you with KES, M-Pesa and a licence statement, it is a reasonable option to try with a small first deposit. If not, choose one of the alternatives above or our best betting sites in Kenya list. Betting is for adults 18+ only, and BCLB's responsible gambling resources, now continued by the GRA, include self-exclusion if you need it.
