Where to enter a promo code
- At registration: most sites show an optional "promo code" or "referral code" field on the sign-up form. Enter it before pressing Register; it usually cannot be added later.
- At deposit: some offers ask for a code in the cashier when you make the qualifying deposit.
- In the promotions area: a few sites have a "redeem code" box for free bets or campaign codes.
- By SMS: occasionally an operator runs an SMS code to its shortcode; only trust instructions on the operator's own site.
Why many Kenyan offers need no code
Many Kenyan operators apply their welcome offer automatically to new accounts that opt in. A code adds nothing to those offers. If a page insists that you must use its "exclusive" code to get a standard welcome bonus, check the operator's site: often the same offer is available to everyone.
Referral codes and refer-a-friend
Several bookmakers, including Betika, run refer-a-friend programmes where an existing customer shares a referral code and both sides may get a reward once the new player bets. These are legitimate when run through the operator's own system. Be wary of strangers sharing referral codes in groups with promises of bonuses the operator does not list.
Fake promo codes and code sellers
Search results for promo codes are full of pages offering codes for brands that have no Kenyan site, as well as Telegram and WhatsApp channels selling "VIP codes" and "correct score coupons". Those are scams. A bookmaker's promo code is free and published by the operator or its official partners; paying for one, or entering one on a site you reached through a chat link, puts your money and M-Pesa details at risk. Codes for foreign brands found on international sites also do nothing for a Kenyan account.
Promo codes for brands that have left Kenya
Codes for Betway, Betsafe and BetLion still circulate online, but none of these brands currently accepts Kenyan players, so the codes are useless. The same goes for codes promoted for brands with no Kenyan licence we could confirm. Our new betting sites page lists which recently promoted names are actually active.
Checklist before you use any code
- Is the bookmaker licensed in Kenya? Our licensed betting sites page shows how to check.
- Is the code shown on the operator's own promotions page or by an official partner?
- What does the code actually unlock, and are the terms different from the standard offer?
- Does the offer have rollover, minimum odds or an expiry that suits how you bet?
What happens if you forget the code
If you register without a code that an offer required, contact customer care straight away; some operators add it manually within a short time, others cannot. If the offer did not need a code in the first place, you lose nothing. This is another reason to read the promotion page before signing up rather than after. Keep a screenshot of the offer you registered for, in case the terms change before you meet them.
Football betting coupons and booking codes
People sometimes mix up promo codes with booking codes. A booking code is a shared bet slip: enter it and the same selections load onto your slip. It does not give you a bonus.
