Kessbet is a Kenyan online bookmaker operated by Kessun Kenya Limited, a local company that states a BCLB licence on its homepage. It takes M-Pesa only, signs up Safaricom numbers, and offers sports, virtuals, a casino with Aviator and a welcome bonus paid out over a month. BetTips.co.ke is an independent betting information site with no connection to Kessbet; if you are looking for the official Kessbet site, the button below takes you there.

This review is based on Kessbet's public homepage and help pages, read in October 2026. We did not open an account, deposit or withdraw, so account-level details come from the operator's own terms and we point out where you should double-check.

Is Kessbet legit and licensed?

Kessbet's homepage says the brand is run by Kessun Kenya Limited and quotes a licence number issued by the Betting Control and Licensing Board; you can see it in the facts box. That is the kind of statement a legitimate local operator should make, and we found no report of Kessbet being suspended between 2024 and 2026.

Two caveats. First, the BCLB has been replaced by the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) under the Gambling Control Act, 2025, and the GRA does not run a public online register we could search, so we could not cross-check the number independently. Second, at least one payment directory said it could not find a licence statement, even though the homepage text carries one. Before depositing a large amount, scroll to the footer and confirm the licence line is still there. Our licensed betting sites guide shows what a complete licence statement looks like.

Signing up: Safaricom numbers only

Registration uses your mobile number and a password, confirmed by a one-time code sent by SMS. The help page says only Safaricom numbers can register, which matters if your main line is Airtel or Telkom. Step-by-step instructions and fixes for a code that never arrives are on our Kessbet registration page.

Deposits and withdrawals through M-Pesa

Deposits start from your account: request a deposit, enter your M-Pesa PIN on the prompt, and the help page says funds credit immediately. The minimum is small and there is a daily maximum, both shown on the deposit screen. Withdrawals go from the Withdrawals section to your M-Pesa number, within daily minimum and maximum limits. Kessbet says it charges no withdrawal fee of its own, though M-Pesa charges may apply.

Kenyan law also deducts the excise charge on deposits and the tax withheld from winnings, applied automatically by the operator. Our Kessbet paybill and withdrawal guide has the steps, and betting tax in Kenya explains the deductions.

The Kessbet welcome bonus

Kessbet advertises a welcome bonus that is not paid in one go: it is distributed across your betting activity over about a month, and it cannot be used on crash games. That structure rewards steady, regular betting rather than one big deposit, and it means Aviator players should not count on it. The current amount sits in the facts box; the conditions, including how each part is unlocked, are on our Kessbet bonus and promo code page.

Sports and live markets

Football leads the sportsbook, with the English Premier League drawing most Kenyan interest, plus La Liga, Serie A and the Champions League. Fixtures appear in East Africa Time. The FKF Premier League, branded the SportPesa Premier League after its title sponsorship deal, also appears when fixtures are scheduled, although the start of the 2026-27 season has been delayed by a court dispute. If you plan to bet on Kenyan football, our Kenyan Premier League predictions page explains how to judge local matches without inside "tips".

Virtuals and the jackpot section

The site menu includes Virtual and Jackpot sections. Virtual games are simulated events that settle in minutes and cannot be studied like real matches. We could not confirm whether the jackpot section is a sports jackpot or a casino jackpot game, so we make no claims about it; check the section itself before you assume a weekend jackpot exists.

Kessbet casino and Aviator

The casino has several hundred titles: video slots, crash games and live tables. Aviator by Spribe is the best-known crash game there. The welcome bonus cannot be used on crash games, so any Aviator play is from your own balance. Our Kessbet casino page covers the lobby, and Aviator on Kessbet explains stake planning and why predictor apps are scams.

App, mobile site and SMS

Kessbet's help page recommends its mobile website or an app download for Android and iOS, but the pages we read gave no store link. The mobile site is light and works in any browser, which is what most people mean by "Kessbet lite". The Kessbet app guide explains how to get a one-tap icon safely. We found no published SMS betting shortcode for Kessbet.

Contacting KessBet support

We did not find a customer care phone number or email on the Kessbet pages we read. That is a real weakness: when money is involved, you want a clear, written channel. See Kessbet customer care for how to find the operator's current contact details and avoid impostor accounts.

Who Kessbet suits best

Kessbet makes most sense for a punter with a Safaricom line who places a few modest football bets each week and tops up through M-Pesa. The low minimum keeps entry cheap, and the monthly bonus rewards that steady pattern. It suits less well if your money sits on Airtel Money, if you want a native app from a store, or if you value a phone line you can call when something goes wrong. Jackpot hunters should look at bookmakers with clearly published sports jackpots, which our jackpot predictions hub covers.

What we like and what we would change

  • Plus: local company with a licence line on the homepage.
  • Plus: low minimum deposit and immediate M-Pesa crediting.
  • Plus: no operator fee on withdrawals.
  • Minus: Safaricom-only registration and M-Pesa-only payments.
  • Minus: no published customer care contacts or store app links.
  • Minus: welcome bonus excludes crash games and is paid slowly.

Should Kenyans pick KessBet?

Kessbet is a workable choice for Safaricom users who bet small amounts on football and like a bonus that drips in over a month. The missing support details and the uncheckable licence register keep it below the bigger local brands in our ranking, so start with a small deposit and test a withdrawal before you trust it with more. Betting is for adults 18+ only; if it stops being entertainment, see our responsible gambling page.
