Advertiser disclosure: we may earn a commission when you join an operator through links on this page. It never changes our scores. How we make money.

Helabet is a betting and casino site aimed at Kenyan players, with a Kiswahili option and M-Pesa payments, but when we checked it showed no regulator, company name or licence number, and its operator was not on the list of companies approved for licensing in Kenya for 2025/2026. Until a valid Kenyan licence is shown, we do not recommend depositing with Helabet. BetTips.co.ke is a review site with no ownership ties to any bookmaker with no link to Helabet; below we explain what we found and which licensed alternatives to consider.

Is Helabet licensed in Kenya?

Kenyan law requires online betting operators to hold a licence, and since the Gambling Control Act 2025 foreign-based operators must also be registered in Kenya with a local address, local customer care and a Kenyan bank account for customer money. The regulator is moving from the BCLB to the Gambling Regulatory Authority, which publishes the operators it licenses.

What we found for Helabet:

  • The site says it is licensed in Kenya, but shows no regulator name, company name or licence number.
  • Helabet was not on the BCLB list of 99 operators approved for licensing in 2025/2026, published in August 2025.
  • An independent Kenyan payments guide also reported finding no licence statement on the site.
  • A sponsored article in a Kenyan newspaper described Helabet as licensed but did not name a licensee.

A licence can be granted after a list is published, so this is not proof that Helabet is illegal. It does mean the burden is on the operator to show its licence. Before you consider any deposit, look for a company name and licence number in the footer and check them against the regulator's current list. Our licensed betting sites page explains the check.

Helabet.co.ke and helabetke.com

The helabet.co.ke address redirects to helabetke.com, which presents itself as a betting site for Kenya. The site appears to run on a white-label platform shared by several international betting brands, and it blocks visitors from outside Kenya. Searches for "Helabet GH" refer to a separate market; a Kenyan account is tied to the Kenyan site.

What Helabet offers

ProductListed on the site

CasinoSlots and live casino

Virtual sportsYes
Other gamesBingo, poker, TV games

The range is wide, which is typical of international white-label platforms. A wide menu does not replace a clear licence, and fast products such as live casino and TV games carry more risk for your balance than a weekend football bet.

The Helabet bonus is shown in euros

Helabet's bonus rules page advertises a bonus spread over the first two deposits, but the headline amount is stated in euros, not Kenyan shillings. That is a sign the page comes from a template used across several markets. We could not read KES terms, so we do not print a bonus figure. If you see a "Helabet free bet" or welcome offer, check the currency, wagering requirement and expiry carefully, and ask yourself why a Kenya-facing site does not state its terms in KES. Compare licensed offers on our bonuses page.

Helabet deposits, withdrawals and paybill

The site says deposits and withdrawals go through M-Pesa. A paybill number and minimum deposit for Helabet appear only on one unofficial site, so we have not printed them. If you ever pay a betting site through M-Pesa, check that the confirmation SMS names the company you expect. If the recipient is a person or an unrelated business, stop.

The bigger issue with an unverified operator is what happens if a withdrawal is refused. A licensed Kenyan bookmaker can be reported to the regulator; an operator without a confirmed local licence offers you much less protection. Kenyan excise duty on top-ups and withholding tax on payouts also apply to betting; licensed operators show these deductions on their payment screens, as explained in our betting tax guide.

Helabet customer care and contacts

Searches for a Helabet customer care number are common. The site lists Kenyan social accounts on X, Telegram, Instagram and Facebook. Any phone number or email should come only from the operator's contact page on the site itself; we do not reproduce numbers. Be careful with Telegram channels offering "Helabet signals" or predictions: these are not support and the predictions are scams.

How to check any betting site's licence in five minutes

  1. Scroll to the footer and note the company name and licence number.
  2. Search the regulator's published list of licensed operators for that company.
  3. Check that the company name on your M-Pesa confirmation matches the one in the footer.
  4. Look for a Kenyan physical address and local customer care, which the 2025 Act requires of foreign-based operators.
  5. Read the terms page: a licensed Kenyan operator names Kenyan law and the Kenyan regulator.

If a site fails two or more of these checks, keep your money elsewhere. The same checks protect you from cloned sites that copy the look of genuine bookmakers.

We did not open an account, deposit or test withdrawals. These findings come from the public site, its bonus rules page, the regulator's published list and Kenyan press. Our notes on Helabet registration and the Helabet app explain what to check if you still go ahead.

Licensed alternatives to Helabet

If you were drawn to Helabet for its casino range, Aviator-style games or M-Pesa payments, several bookmakers on the regulator's approved list offer the same things with clearer ownership. The table below shows active operators we have reviewed.

If you already have a Helabet account

Do not add more money while the licence question is open. Try to withdraw your balance to M-Pesa, keep screenshots of your deposit and withdrawal history, and note the date of every request. If a withdrawal is refused or delayed for unclear reasons, write down what you were told. Avoid anyone on social media who offers to "unlock" a withdrawal for a fee; that is a common follow-up scam.

Helabet: final assessment

Helabet looks like a full betting and casino site, but without a visible licence, company name or KES bonus terms we cannot recommend it. If Helabet publishes a Kenyan licence that matches the regulator's list, we will review it again. Until then, our advice is not to deposit. Betting is for adults 18+ only, and BCLB's responsible gambling resources, now carried on by the GRA, cover self-exclusion if you need it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Helabet legit in Kenya?

We could not confirm a Kenyan licence. The site shows no licence number or company name, and its operator was not on the 2025/2026 approved list. We advise against depositing until that changes.

Who owns Helabet?

The site does not name a company. It appears to run on a white-label platform used by several international betting brands.

What is the Helabet paybill number?

We could not confirm one from an official source. Only use payment details shown on the operator's own site, and check the M-Pesa recipient name.

Why is the Helabet bonus in euros?

The bonus rules page states the headline amount in EUR, which suggests a template shared across markets. Ask for KES terms before accepting any offer.

Is BetTips.co.ke connected to Helabet?

No. We are an independent review site and cannot help with Helabet accounts.
