Our Europa League predictions cover every UEFA Europa League match on Thursday nights, plus selected picks from the Conference League. Both competitions mix famous clubs with sides from smaller leagues that Kenyan punters rarely watch, which is why careful research pays off here more than in the Premier League. Kick-offs fall in the evening and late night in Kenya, and the list below is updated once team news is in.
This week's Europa League and Conference League picks
Picks are grouped by competition. Each line shows the fixture, the kick-off in EAT, the market, the price we saw and the reasoning. Europa League and Conference League games usually run in two slots on Thursdays; in Kenya the early slot is mid-evening and the late slot runs to about midnight, depending on European daylight saving time.
How Thursday football differs
These competitions have a few features that change how we predict them:
- Rotation is common. Many clubs, especially from the big leagues, field weaker line-ups on Thursday to protect players for Sunday. A club's name on the fixture list tells you less than its actual eleven. Our Saturday and Sunday tips show the league games those clubs are protecting players for.
- Long trips. Away games can mean flights to Scandinavia, the Caucasus or Eastern Europe, often with different weather and pitches.
- Uneven information. Data on clubs from smaller leagues is thinner, and bookmakers sometimes price them less accurately.
- Different motivation. For a big club the competition may be a distraction; for a smaller one it can be the season's biggest stage.
Since 2024-25 both competitions use a league phase in which each club plays eight different opponents (six in the Conference League), followed by knockout rounds. Results in the league phase decide who goes straight through, who enters a play-off round and who goes out.
Our method for UEFA Europa predictions
| Step | What we do |
|---|---|
| 1. Form | Domestic and European results over the last six to eight games, with weaker opposition discounted |
| 2. Expected goals | Chance creation and concession, using public xG data where it exists |
| 3. Line-up check | Expected rotation, injuries and suspensions; final check when line-ups drop an hour before kick-off |
| 4. Context | Travel, weekend fixtures, standing in the league phase |
| 5. Price | Only publish when our estimate beats the implied chance in the odds |
Conference League predictions
The Conference League features even more clubs from smaller football nations. Mismatches are common in the early rounds, and favourites can be priced very short. We often prefer handicap or goals lines to straight wins there. When two little-known sides meet, we publish only if we have reliable information; otherwise we skip the game rather than guess.
Markets that work on Thursdays
Rotation weakens favourites, so double chance on a solid home underdog can be attractive. Goals lines suit ties where a strong attack meets a team from a lower-ranked league that defends poorly away from home. In knockout first legs, many teams play carefully, so unders and draws come into play. Our double chance tips and GG/NG predictions explain those markets in detail.
Reading line-ups on a Thursday
Line-ups are the single biggest factor in Europa League betting, and they arrive about an hour before kick-off. Our approach is to publish provisional picks earlier in the day with a clear condition, such as "only if the first-choice striker starts", and then confirm or withdraw once the team sheets are out. If you place bets in the afternoon, compare the official line-up with the one assumed in the reason line. A club that names five or six changes from its weekend side is effectively a different team, and the price may not have caught up yet. That gap sometimes creates value on the opponent, and sometimes means the original pick should be skipped.
Weather and travel deserve a look too. A November game in northern Europe can be played on a cold, heavy pitch, which tends to slow the tempo and reduce goals, while a long flight the day before can blunt a pressing side's energy in the second half.
Staking UEL picks in KES
Keep a flat unit of 1-2% of your monthly betting money; on KES 5,000, that is KES 50 to KES 100. Because late kick-offs finish near midnight EAT, decide on your stakes before the first game starts and do not add live bets to recover losses late at night.

Thursday betting mistakes
- Backing a big club before seeing its line-up.
- Assuming a club from a smaller league is weak; many are strong at home.
- Filling a weekend jackpot-style slip with Thursday results you did not research.
- Chasing losses with late live bets.
For Tuesday and Wednesday games, see our Champions League predictions. Betting is for adults 18+ only.
Frequently asked questions
When are Europa League matches played?
Mostly on Thursday evenings in Europe, in two kick-off slots. In Kenya that means games from mid-evening until about midnight EAT, depending on daylight saving in Europe.
Do you predict the Conference League?
Yes, selectively. We publish Conference League picks when we have reliable line-up and form information on both clubs.
Why do big clubs lose in the Europa League?
Rotation, travel and motivation all play a part. Many clubs rest key players on Thursdays to prepare for weekend league games.
What is the best market for Europa League betting?
There is no single best market. Handicaps and goals lines often suit mismatches, while double chance can work when a rotated favourite plays away.
