This Melbet review looks at Melbet Kenya, the melbet.ke platform run by Game Tosha Limited from Nairobi since 2020: a very wide sportsbook with live betting and esports, a big casino with Fast Games and live dealers, M-Pesa and Airtel Money payments and a Kiswahili version of the site. BetTips.co.ke is an independent review site, not Melbet; for the official Melbet login use the button below and confirm the address before typing your password.

Melbet Kenya in brief

Melbet is an international betting brand that entered the Kenyan market in August 2020 with a dedicated .ke domain. According to the About page, the Kenyan site is owned by Game Tosha Limited with an address on Waiyaki Way in Nairobi. That local company matters, because Kenya's Gambling Control Act, 2025 requires operators serving Kenyans to be registered locally with local customer care.

One gap: we could not find a licence number printed on the public pages of melbet.ke when we checked. A number appears on third-party profiles, but we do not repeat figures we cannot confirm from the operator or the regulator. Melbet was not on the April 2025 list of illegal betting sites reported in the local press. Before you deposit, scroll to the footer of the official site and look for the licence number, then compare it with the list published by the Gambling Regulatory Authority.

Is Melbet legit in Kenya?

The signals are mixed but mostly reassuring: a named Kenyan company, a physical Nairobi address, a .ke domain, round-the-clock support and several years in the market. The missing licence number on the pages we could read is the one point to check yourself. Our rating method explains why we weigh licence information so heavily. If you want only operators with clearly published licences, start with our licensed betting sites list.

Sports betting and live markets

Melbet's strength is range. The sportsbook covers pre-match and live betting on football and many other sports, plus esports. For a typical Kenyan punter that means:

  • Deep markets on EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Champions League games, well beyond 1X2: handicaps, totals, corners, cards and player markets.
  • Lower leagues and smaller countries, useful if you build accumulators from games other sites skip.
  • Live betting with frequent price updates during the match.
  • Toto-style pools, bingo and TV games as side products.

Such depth also means more ways to make poor bets. Long accumulators across obscure leagues look tempting on the slip but fail far more often than they land. Our betting strategy guide explains how to keep slips small and stakes level.

Odds on Kenyan favourites

Many Kenyans bet mostly on the EPL and on the Mashemeji derby between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards when the domestic league is running. Melbet usually lists these matches with many side markets, but the best price on a given game moves between bookmakers through the week. Before a larger bet, check the same selection on two or three sites from our best odds comparison; a small difference in price adds up over a season. We do not print Melbet odds here, because a static number would be wrong within hours.

Casino, Fast Games and virtuals

Melbet's casino section includes slots, table games and a live casino with streamed dealers. Fast Games is where quick-round titles sit, and crash-style games are usually found there; we could not confirm from the official pages whether Aviator itself is listed, so search the lobby after logging in. Virtual sports run round the clock for those who want results every few minutes. Our casino guide explains RTP and volatility, and the crash games guide covers fast multiplier games.

Deposits, withdrawals and minimum deposit

Melbet Kenya accepts M-Pesa and Airtel Money. Because melbet.ke shows a block page to visitors outside Kenya, we could not read its deposit screen, so the paybill and minimum deposit fields in the key facts box show only what we have confirmed, and a blank field means we could not confirm it. In practice, use the deposit form in your account, which normally sends an M-Pesa prompt to your phone, or copy the business number displayed there if you prefer paying from the M-Pesa menu.

StepWhat to expect
DepositM-Pesa or Airtel Money prompt from the deposit page; excise duty is deducted by law
BetShilling balance shared across sports and casino
Melbet withdrawalRequest in your account to the registered mobile money number
Tax on winningsWithholding tax deducted before payout

The tax rules changed in 2025 and again in 2026; see our betting tax guide. Compare other payment-friendly bookmakers on our M-Pesa betting sites page.

Bonuses and Champions Club

Melbet advertises a first deposit bonus for new players; the current headline figure is in the key facts box. Deposit match bonuses from international brands usually carry accumulator conditions, minimum odds and a short deadline, so read the rules before you deposit. Melbet also runs a loyalty programme called Champions Club. Details are on our Melbet bonus page.

Website, mobile site and app

Searches like "melbet mobile", "melbetmobi" and "melbet website" all lead to the same question: how to reach Melbet on a phone. The official .ke site works in a mobile browser, and Melbet also promotes apps. We could not confirm the current app distribution from official pages, so follow the download link on melbet.ke only; our Melbet app guide explains the safe way. Avoid mirror sites and lookalike domains that copy the design, because the .ke domain is the one tied to the Kenyan company.

Melbet and 1xBet: same thing?

Punters often search for Melbet and 1xBet together because the two sites look very similar, with comparable layouts and market depth. In Kenya they are separate brands with separate accounts, separate bonuses and their own operating companies. A 1xBet account does not log you into Melbet. If you are weighing them up, read our 1xBet review next to this one.

Customer support

The Contacts page lists 24-hour support with a free-to-call phone line and email, plus separate addresses for security issues and blocked accounts. Use the numbers as listed on the operator's contact page, not ones forwarded by SMS. A Kiswahili version of the site helps if you prefer reading terms in Swahili.
