Advertiser disclosure: we may earn a commission when you join an operator through links on this page. It never changes our scores. How we make money.

Betting odds tell you two things: how much a bet pays and how likely the bookmaker thinks the outcome is. Kenyan sites show decimal odds, so odds of 2.50 on a KES 100 stake return KES 250 if the bet wins, including your stake. Getting the best odds means comparing prices for the same pick across bookmakers and choosing the one with the lowest margin. This page explains how to read odds, how to measure a margin, which sites tend to price well, and why "sure odds" do not exist.

No single bookmaker has the best price on every match. The sites in this table cover the main football leagues with competitive pricing; comparing two or three of them before each bet is the simplest habit that improves your returns.

Decimal odds converted to implied probability and payout
Decimal odds, implied probability and payout explained.

How decimal odds work

OddsReturn on KES 100ProfitImplied probability
1.25KES 125KES 2580%
1.50KES 150KES 5067%
2.00KES 200KES 10050%
3.00KES 300KES 20033%
5.00KES 500KES 40020%

Implied probability is 1 divided by the odds. At 2.00 the bookmaker is pricing the outcome as a 50% chance. If you believe the real chance is higher, the bet has value; if lower, it does not, however tempting the payout. Withholding tax on winnings is deducted by the operator, so your actual payout will be a little below the figures shown.

The bookmaker's margin

Add up the implied probabilities of all outcomes in a market and you get more than 100%. The extra is the margin, the bookmaker's built-in edge. Example: a match priced Home 2.10, Draw 3.20, Away 3.50 gives 47.6% + 31.3% + 28.6% = 107.5%, a margin of about 7.5%. The same match at another site priced 2.20, 3.30, 3.60 adds to 103.5%. The second site returns more to winning punters over time.

Margins are usually lowest on the EPL and Champions League, higher on minor leagues, and highest on long accumulators, because each leg multiplies the edge. You can use our odds calculator to check returns and combined odds in KES.

Sure odds, 2 odds daily and 8 daily odds: what those searches mean

Kenyan punters search for "sure odds today", "2 sure odds daily free" and "8 daily odds" in big numbers. These usually refer to tip packages that combine a few short-priced selections into a target total, such as 2.00 or 8.00. There is nothing wrong with targeting a total, but no combination is sure: favourites lose every weekend, and a single upset loses the whole slip. Any service claiming guaranteed sure odds is selling marketing, not certainty. Our 2 odds predictions page explains how such slips are built honestly and how often they can be expected to lose.

Biggest odds to win today

Long odds attract attention, and correct scores, HT/FT and long multibets offer the biggest prices on any day. Big odds are fine for small, fun stakes, but they come with low probabilities and usually higher margins. Treat them as lottery-style bets, not as a plan. Our correct score predictions show how to approach those markets with a small budget.

Dropping odds

When a price shortens sharply before kick-off, it is called a dropping odd. It may signal team news, heavy betting, or a bookmaker correcting its own line. Following drops blindly is risky: by the time you see the move, the value has usually gone. It is more useful as a prompt to check team news before betting.

Odds portals and comparison

Odds comparison sites list many bookmakers' prices for the same match. Many international bookmakers on those portals do not operate in Kenya, so compare only among licensed sites you can actually use. A practical Kenyan routine:

  1. Choose your pick from your own analysis or our predictions for today.
  2. Open two or three licensed bookmakers where you have accounts.
  3. Take the best price, even if the difference is small; 0.05 on every bet adds up over a season.
  4. For accumulators, compare the total odds as well, and check any multibet bonus.

Fractional and American odds

British sites and TV sometimes quote fractional odds such as 6/4, and US sources use American odds like +150. Both are the same as decimal 2.50. To convert fractional odds, divide the two numbers and add 1. Kenyan bookmakers all display decimal odds by default.

Using odds responsibly

Understanding odds helps you avoid bad value, but it does not remove risk. Even a well-priced bet loses often. Keep stakes fixed and small relative to your budget, and avoid raising them to chase a loss. Betting is only for adults 18+; see our responsible gambling page for limits and support.

Frequently asked questions

What do odds of 1.50 mean?

Odds of 1.50 return KES 150 for every KES 100 staked, including the stake, so the profit is KES 50 before tax. The implied probability is about 67%.

Which betting site has the best odds in Kenya?

It changes from match to match. Compare the price on two or three licensed bookmakers before each bet; the table above lists sites worth comparing.

Are sure odds real?

No. Every football outcome can lose, so sure odds or 100 percent tips do not exist. Treat such claims as marketing.

How do I calculate accumulator odds?

Multiply the odds of each selection. Three picks at 1.50, 1.80 and 2.00 give total odds of 5.40. Our odds calculator does it for you in KES.
